I think he should have Russell in there on what appears to be obvious run downs and sparingly have him fake an option play or pitchout, etc and have him wing it down field to hopefully a wide open receiver. This will give Jefferson the absolute best chance to succeed in the passing game. Running a standard pass play is not working and only helps the defense out because it appears to be obvious to them when we are passing based on formations. Jefferson needs all the help he can get. With Lee, I would line him up in shotgun formation most times and run out of it with delayed handoffs and draws, to once again lure the defense into pinning their ears back and getting caught in pass defense by busting a run up the gut. Bottom line, think outside the box you phucking idiots. That is all.
Are you calling me an idiot? I wasn't trying to come up with a real game plan. I was just being stupid, and saying something off the top of my head. :milesmic:
That's prolly asking too much... after all Miles said LSU had a whole whopping 3 good practices preparing for Bama. If JJ sees majority of the snaps, be prepared for a few turnovers.
I think JJ shotgun formation, and run the zone read, or jet sweep. maybe roll the pocket to the right and let him throw, or throw screens. Why not keep a checkdown player right by the line of scrimmage for Jefferson? I would run Lee out of the I formation and the ace formation. heavy doses of power running, which if successful can open up the play action. At the beginning of the season i was an advocate of throwing the ball on first down. Scratch that **** unless it's a safe throw because we are constantly playing behind the chains. Especially in the 2nd half. The key to this game in my opinion are the first 2 drives of the first half, and the first 2 drives of the 2nd half. We must come away with points on those.
The constant short passes wont cut it against Bama. They will tee off on LSU. We must go down the damn field. The only thing that might help is Satan often gets uber conservative with a lead, example the LSU and Bama championship games.
