Honestly, this would have had to be seen as a highly successful season had we just kicked the ball deep inbounds vs Alabama and came away with a much deserved victory.
Ironically, his style of football wins most (80%) of football games. But I will agree, this year's offense in SEC games sucked.
Defense and special teams have carried his teams most seasons. While the offensive philosophy does limit turnovers (LSU has probably been top 10 in the nation in turnover ratio since 2005), it's when we can't dominate defensively, this team becomes a .500 football team. Hell Bama doesn't play balls to the walls offense either, but at least they have competent QB play that balances their offense.
Qb play has hurt quite a few teams in the sec this season. Not all have the same amount of talent on the offensive side of the ball that lsu has though.
I like the I - Formation, I like the fact that my team runs a pro style offense and not some Urban Meyer/Malzahn gimmick offense. My only problem with it is continuing to recruit tailbacks to play the qb position.
les has been known to put an emphasis on ball handling and has benched players for fumbles. Guess he thinks running backs are less likely to cough it up while handing off...
Dude you are a dingleberry, I've been pro Jennings like I'm pro cancer over full blown AIDS. Neither are the answer, I just like Jennings more than Harris.
First time in while that I agree with your assessment. This is spot on, and based on facts, not opinion or drama. Way to go Islstl.
My frustration is the inability to adjust in a game. If what you gameplanned isn't working change. I'm a much bigger fan of winning rather than keeping some focus on running the ball. His BS style of playing not lose rather than playing for victory is frustrating as hell. If we get down by 14 it is game over. Can you even imagine this team doing the exact thing Bama did to us in Tiger Stadium the last two visits. We couldn't complete enough passes in crunch time if the players lives depended on it. It is amazing to me that LSU could not run a two minute drill with the athletes available. It feels strained to complete a forward pass. Every other team in the NCAA is better at throwing the ball than LSU. That is completely unacceptable. This is not the 60s and 70s anymore. Adapt or die.
