Well, another regular season comes to an end. 8-4. Say it again 8-4. Kind of leaves a bitter taste in your mouth doesn't it? Not that we didn't know that it was possible with all the young talent and the loss of greats like Zach Mettenberger, Odell Beckham, Jr and Jarvis Landry to the NFL. More disappointing than the final result is the way it happened.

Yes, the defense sucked at the beginning of the season and the center of our D Line was getting repeatedly gashed up the middle. Dak Prescott and Nick Marshall exposed major weaknesses. But as we knew it would, the defense got better with each game and young players like Jamal Adams and Kendall Beckwith stepped up to the plate and now it looks like we will start 2015 with one of the very best defenses in the country even if Danielle Hunter and Kwon Alexander opt to play on Sundays.

No, the major meltdown for the Tigers was the way the coaching staff handled the quarterback situation and the refusal to back away from the pro set two tight end I formation and to take advantage of the basic skills of either Anthony Jennings or Brandon Harris. What is totally inexplicable is the fact that in the opener vs Wisconsin they did a bit of spread and read option. Then they locked it in a box and didn't let it out until the finale vs Texas A&M. WHY NOT? Why keep trying to pound a square peg into a round hole. Over and over and over and over.

Well, its all been said here all season in a few hundred thousand words and pictures. 8-4. And we get to go to some crappy bowl game that doesn't mean squat. I don't see too many Tiger fans traveling too far and spending too much on this trip. I hope its the Texas Bowl so at least its a short trip for Louisiana fans and maybe we get a good crowd because of having so many LSU alums in the Houston area. The Taxslayer Bowl in Jacksonville and the Belk Bowl in Charlotte are the other most mentioned possible destinations. JVille is not tremendously far but its a really boring drive down I-10. Its likely to be cold in Charlotte.

In his post game presser following the aTm game Les Miles apologized for not playing Brandon Harris in the game. Why was he apologizing? He finally got it right. There was no point in that game where it would have been a good spot to insert Harris. Jennings was playing well in the version of the spread read option that it took all season to utilize.

Till next season: How bout' some hoops?

I wish Les would just shoot straight once and say that they have chosen Jennings as the QB and stop pretending that Harris is coming. If he intended to play Harris, Arkansas was the perfect spot and yet Harris never saw the field. You are the coach stop pandering and trying to please the fans, when in fact all he does is stoke the ire of fans. I wish he would just be truthful once in his life.

Hope springs eternal. Imagine how much better this young team will be with a year of hard fought experience and without a mass exodus of upperclassmen to the NFL.

Very important pieces will be gone, 4 out 5 offensive lineman will be gone. The 3 out 4 DBs will be gone as well. I hope I am wrong, but I believe LSU is a football factory not a place that these guys really want to grow and develop

The ones on the offensive side of the ball can't expect to be developed or utilized.

The O line leaving early could hurt us, but the db's will be fine. Maybe Brandon Harris can be a db.

Bloody hell, Brett, as the founder of this forum, you are really dark of late. No hope on the horizon?

I like the offense I just don't think they go after the right guys to run said offense.

You like what about the offense?

You've been pro Jennings all this time and now you make that statement? Jesus.
