Not to say CTT shouldn't have a long memory regarding the BoT incident, however there is far less acrimony between Tuberville and Lowder than perceptions seem to indicate. Tuberville has more than proven his loyalty to Auburn and the fanbase support for Tuberville (and against the BoT tactics) is the primary reason he survived the coup attempt in the first place.

The recent media-fueled rumors are of the Auburn administration's own doing. They've previously instructed the staff that "no contract/agreement discussions will take place during the regular season." Tuberville is simply allowing matters to take their own course, as he should do.

As demonstrated by the recent McCready firing, the media in the state of Alabama is in alignment with their bread-n-butter. It should be no surprise that the party line will be to promote negative issue regarding AU ..... no surprise at all. If Auburn doesn't want the Bama-biased media to run with it, then they shouldn't provide them with the ammunition. Just my $0.02 .....

Sayeth Saban[IMG]A chronology of comments about Nick Saban taking the head coaching job at Alabama:

    Nov. 27:
Saban: "When I was in college it was always about coming to the pros. This is the challenge I wanted. I had a good college job. Why would I have left that if I was going to be interested in other college jobs?

"I took this as a challenge. We certainly haven't seen this through and gotten where we want to go and finished the job here, so why would I be interested in something else?"

    Dec. 5:
Dolphins owner Wayne Huizenga (after giving Saban a vote of confidence): "I am completely sold on Nick Saban. I would admit we made a mistake if we did make a mistake, but I firmly believe in Nick Saban."

    Dec. 7:
Saban: "I'm flattered that they may have been interested in me, but it never really progressed, because we just never let it progress."

    Dec. 21:
Saban: "I guess I have to say it. I'm not going to be the Alabama coach. ... I don't control what people say. I don't control what people put on dot-com or anything else. So I'm just telling you there's no significance, in my opinion, about this, about me, about any interest that I have in anything other than being the coach here."

    Dec. 27:
Saban: "I'm just making a rule to never comment on something like that again because every time you comment on it, it just makes for another story. So I'm not going to comment on it five years from now, and I'm not going to comment on it next week."

    Jan. 4:
Saban: "What I realized in the last two years is that we love college coaching because of the ability that it gives you to affect people, young people. ... If I knew that my heart was someplace else in what I wanted to do, I don't think it would be fair to the [Dolphins] organization if I stayed."

    :)

Auburn didn't try to screw him. A few Auburn idiots tried and Tubs ended up as BMOC and still is.:thumb:

It is amazing to me how many Auburn fans still believe Lowder was the problem. The problem trustee is McWhorter not Lowder. McWhorter was on the plane to Louisville and there is still no love lost between hin and Tubs. Fortunately McWhorter's term is up next February.

When will Colleges ever figure out that the key to maintaining a top program is stability in your coaching staff. Nebraska and Texas A&M are prime examples. If they had stuck with Solich and Slocum, they'd be in the BCS running right now. Bama should have give Shula another couple of years but they couldn't resist the Saban siren song. The coaching change hurt them and it remains to be seen how long it will take Nick to get them back to where Shula had them. ND screwed Willingham and I'm convinced he had the program headed in the right direction. Unless it's obvious a mistake has been made (Archer/Hallman/Dinardo with Tepper) stay the course until it becomes obvious.

Agreed. It's often perceived that Lowder was the issue because he furnished the aircraft, but McWhorter and his lackey Franklin were the issue. It's safe to say there are a lot of folks that have issues with McWhorter and his role as a trustee has an immediate shelf-life :thumb:
