I would have given LSU a 0 percent chance without the coaching change. Now I'm intrigued. Chances are still slim, but I think there is a chance at an upset. The funny thing is this may be the first time in a while that the first weekend in November may not have any bearing on the outcome in the west.
I'm curious as well to see how many apple carts we can overturn. I think with O's ability to motivate, our talent level, and a nothing to lose, free-spirit attitude, we are a dangerous team. A couple of big wins to build confidence we may just surprise some. Remember we were picked to win the West based on our talent and experience players returning, we just didn't have the coaching. Our team seems to be unified now and the young guys like Chark are stepping up, so I'm encouraged. Let's win it all for Mike!!!
I believe you said it in an earlier post. But in the tight, tight west there is never any room for error. LSU has to have 8 conference games to compete. TAMU and ole miss don't seem to be fading, the barn has found an offense with a very good D, and LSU is LSU. Again the west division is so much stronger than the east, it's amazing.
Until we face a strong team it's hard to know how much of Eaux's first performance is attributed to Missouri. I'm holding out hope that a workmanlike offensive philosophy trumps whatever Frankenstein we were trotting out onto the field with Miles and Cameron. We got excited when Etling showed up vs jax st, but that quickly got dashed vs AU. Still a bunch of unknowns.
I agree @lsu-i-like, but keep in mind who was guiding him. Every QB under Cam and Les seem to regress after a few weeks of pressure about turning the ball over. A QB or any player can't produce with that going on in his mind. Our guys need to play reaction football with a clear mind. I think O let's them do this, just go out, have fun and beat the man across from you. It was evident against Mizzu as they seem to play a little looser. I know Bama, OM, and the others will be a tougher game, but we have the athletes to play with these guys. Our talent level has not changed because we lost a couple games. In fact even with that pathetic coaching we still had a chance to win. Consider the offensive numbers we put up and this was without our best RB and many dropped passes. I'm not looking at this through purple glasses just because we had one good performance, I think the pieces have always been there just not used properly. I also have to say I was impressed with Ensminger's play calling. I was never impressed with him as a coach but now I think it was the coaching philosophy he was under.
How many yards did we have vs Jax at. How many vs our last sec opponent. I think Mizzou was avg over 560 yds and their d was playing pretty good. Shoulda beat UGA who is avg but they aren't as bad as we made them look. Most of that was bc of less than one week of different coaching. Etling connects on 2 of those 5 long balls we have over 800 yds. May not happen again but hey it happened. Most yds ever in an sec game which quite a few were vs vandi. I apologize. I thought I was posting under my msully alter when I typed that one long run-on sentence.
I'm not sure I buy this. I think we would have gone to florida and drummed them. They were banged up and as was said earlier we are playing loose and the guys look like they are able to just go and play. Not having to think about all the bs that was going on. It over all feels like chains have come off. Just my opinion.
