Thank you. Just what I was looking for. I'm asking because I don't get to watch games on tv (only on my computer), and even then, don't get to watch all of the games...it's nice to have general statements backed up with concrete examples.
This conservative approach in game-calling is not going to win us any blue chip skill recruits either. Who's going to want to come in and play in this offense? Probably even RS is second guessing.
AGREE!!! Back in the 60s and 70s, whenever the Tigers didn't have the overall talent we're supposed to have today, we had something else. Most call it "football moxie" or (stretched out) our players made up for talent by knowing what the game was all about and how to execute it to the best (or better) of their ability. None of today's players can remember a starting guard weighing only 169 pounds; but we had them, and they fought harder than ten catfish in a rainstorm. Tommy Casanova - LSU's only three-time All-American -just had his number retired. It's a shame most fans didn't have the chance to catch one of his games. He was MORE THAN SPECIAL. So was Billy Cannon, whose value as a Defensive Back never drew print outside of LSU. What a shame. Too many players are performing for "possible NFL" careers. Perhaps they would do better if they just concentrated on their play at LSU. :geaux:
