It is only my opinion but I think the Jordan Jefferson experiment is a failure. The kid just doesn't get it and I don't think he will. I'll take my chances with Lee but its not going to happen. I have never had a lot of faith in our coach and watching this team fall apart is not doing anything to boost my confidence in him. Of course none of this matters. It is what it is and we just aren't very good with him as our QB.
It's a mindset that we don't want to ruin our QB like we did last year with Lee. But ironically this "don't phuck things up Jefferson" offense is ruining the kid anyway. He has retreated and become more gun sky with each snap of the ball. Timidness at QB is not a good trait. But we have created this with an offense hell bent on not making critical turnovers. I don't get it after what we saw with the GTech game last year. I really didn't see this type of conservative offense coming. Such talented receivers going to waste. What a shame.
Actually, he didnt say potential at all. He said "I dont know if this is the best offensive line I've ever had but they are very close" He missed it on this bunch.
And in another instance, he said our runningbacks are going to be running behind the best offensive line I've ever coached.
He did say 'potential'. Here it is: "Our offensive line is more mobile than it's been," Miles said. "I think our offensive line is potentially going to be as good as there is." Times Pic article, September 3. I'll bet that a lot of the "best Oline" talk began about the time this article was written.
He also said a lot of other stuff too. I also remember reading something else he said over the summer. Dont remember exactly where but it basically said the same thing.
Well regardless, they aint all that. I think Miles purpose was to challenge them. Regardless of what everyone thinks of his game management skills and offensive play calling invovlement, the man isnt stupid. He has been around football for a long time, he knows when an O line is under performing and has potential, or at least I HOPE he would. I'd say he more than likely was trying to build them up, call them out to perform etc. I hope he trys something else now, cause I am for whatever he can think of next!
Early against MSU, Lafell came from the right side crossing to the left. He was WIDE ass open and JJ hit him for a 25-30 yd gain. Never saw it again. Against UF, early in the game, exact same play and result, a very nice gain. My son and I both said "well, hope all enjoyed that cause we'll never see it again this game." Unfortunately, we were right.
