This sums up our offense. The sad thing is, with the exact players we have, we could be deadly. Only it would take a shift in coaching mindset. We know our oline is not good. We know our QB is young, but a decent runner and accurate passer when he has time. We know our receivers are tops. We know our backs are able. Why we insist on playing sucha slow paced power running game offense blows my mind. JJ is best when things move quickly, yet we have the check with me playcalling that slows everything down. The oline hasn't blocked anyone all year and we insist on running Scott up the middle every first down. There is an answer. and it is really not hard. Just need someone to actually try to make a change and stop trying to make the personel fit the plays, and start making the plays fit the personel.
The fans should raise some kind of hell about the looking to the sideline crap. Write into newspapers and magazines, call talk radio, write Miles or something, etc. Every freaking offensive play, unless it's hurry up, requires the entire team to look to the sideline. We are experiencing a dumbing down of college football. What happened to letting the QB learn to adjust on his own? Looking to the sideline throws off the momentum and the rhythm. We may never see another Peyton Manning in the SEC ever again, especially if this stuff continues to spread.
Ok. O'line = crap QB = crap WR and RB = good Let's see. Let the RB block and the WR carry the ball. Dude, this takes a whole team. Whether crap or not we have to play the whole team. Any offensive genius can write plays but the players have to accomplish them. If the opponents are better at the key spots then we have a problem. My solution is get better players at key spots but this is a two to three year solution.
Well, we have two options. Jefferson, who doesn't throw INTs, but take sacks. Or Lee, who throws picks that go for TDs. I just don't get how Bama has a "green" QB (first time starter) who looks like he could be a Heisman hopeful at times, Florida has both Tebow and his backup who is a star in waiting, Arky has their QB who looks like someone from Madden '10, Ole Miss has Snead (who, I agree, looks terrible this year), South Carolina has Garcia who may be a star before long... And LSU has a Lee and Jefferson who have shown no improvement, Shepard who rarely plays, and those other guys who just hold the clip board. If you were a highly recruited QB, would you even think about going to LSU? They obviously don't know how to coach QBs.
QB does not = crap at all. Talent wise he is fine. They are complete fail when it comes to using him properly.
