And Spicer just flat out lied about the numbers at the inauguration, then Kellyanne Conway said and I quote "Spicer added alternative facts". That's should be the motto for the GOP. Alternative facts.
That comment bothers me, but the whole attendance numbers debate is pointless to begin with. Its my understanding that no one with any credibility on the matter has attempted to do crowd counts on such events since the 1990's, so any attendance figure is speculation. I know some people are saying that the photo comparisons are also skewed, saying the Trump photos were taken in the morning and are being compared to Obama photos taken at the height of the ceremonies. No idea if that's true, but I wouldn't put it past the current media.
You're right, it really doesn't matter what the actual numbers are. but like you it bothers me too that this guy and his staff care more about appearance than anything.
