Do you like the EC? Or do you like that it delivered you the desired outcome this time?

Put differently, would you defend the EC if a Republican won the popular vote but lost the EC?

I don't know if the EC is the best method but it is infinitely better than a straight up popular vote where basically 2 or 3 states would decide every election going forward. CA and NY will NEVER be red. Why should the rest of the country be forced into anonymity? This is not what the FF envisioned and common sense dictates that popular vote is NOT always the best method.

Until something better comes along its the best we have to balance out the populations of CA and NY/Boston vs that of Montana and Wyoming.

See, I'm not so sure about that. If anyone is feeling anonymous or powerless, it's the Red voter in NY or CA (or the Blue voter in MS, KS). Those are millions of Americans who didn't really help their candidate win because they'll never overcome the collective politics of their state. That, to me, is pretty unfair. And un-American, as the collective should never suppress the individual.

I just feel that it shouldn't matter what state you call home, because that allows your state to effectively silence you - which is crazy if your state went 50.5% / 49.5% and the 50.5% takes the whole enchilada - when you cast a vote for President, it should be as an American.

So in other words if California and New York were red you would be against it.
