i wish i knew a british person so we could argue about this. i am an anglophile, i love british stuff. i drink british beer, listen to british bands, listen to BBC every day, watch brtish shows, read british newspapers. i dont get how these people i like and identify with so well, our cousins across the pond, can justify the monarchy.

i wasnt to ask them, " do you think this person is "royal"? are they better than you? why? says who? from where does their authority come? you? WHY!?

 

The great thing about the British monarchy is that it is above politics. The Tories may hate the Labour and vice versa but at the top, above the fray, sit the Royals. The Brits can look up to a positive force, or at least not a negative one. Here, the person at the top is Trump. The haters only have him to hate.

I lived there for about four years in the 80s. Saw it daily.

 

Who gives a shit whether they are apolitical or not? When I listen to Eric Clapton or Led Zeppelin or the Rolling Stones I don't care what they think about politics. At least they are not throwing it in your face the way a lot of American liberals in the entertainment business do.

Here we have a few people who could buy and sell the whole royal family many times over but for the most part they earned the money they have by being creative and supplying or creating a need or want. When Bill Gates or Warren Buffet or the Koch Brothers have anything to do with politics at least it's for reasons I understand, To hold on to more of their money.
