He had a quality game, huh?

Come on, MM, you're better than that.

I didnt say he had a quality game, I said it can be fixed. No one ever accused Jones of being brilliant.

    I hope you're right.

But not having football instincts or football smarts makes it a lot tougher to correct the situation in his case.

I hope the light turns on soon. Real soon. This Saturday night would be fine with me.

This forum is here so that we can DISCUSS all things LSU. Sometimes, that includes the great moments, sometimes it includes the not so great moments.
    -
"Fan" is short for fanatic. The sooner you learn this, the sooner you'll quit starting silly threads like this one.
    -
If you want nothing but positive news, only visit after a blowout win. Sorry, but not everything was positive about this game.
    -
Yes, there were SOME totally negative people, but most were realistic...even in the chat room.
    -
You refer to people acting like 10 yr olds with all the negativity. I have two young boys who didn't stay up to watch the game. They only know that LSU won...31-23. They're happy. So it is actually the child that isn't concerned with the fact that LSU has glaring problems that need to be addressed. The adults can see it plainly, and some aren't afraid to point it out.
    -
I admit that there were some ridiculous threads and posts, and a certain individual...we'll keep his name out of it, but his initials are JB...lost it in the chat room. That person always loses it in the chat room. It's part of the fun, actually. You should be here during baseball season. Usually you can tell the content of a thread by the title. If it's obviously negative, don't enter. I haven't even viewed the thread about how we're gonna get raped in the SEC again...and some others. But I'm also pretty sure I'm one of the ones you're talking about in chat...and in some of the threads. That just goes to show some have different tolerance levels. Some can tolerate reality, some can't.

I don't think you can separate the world into "true" and "untrue" LSU fans, we're all fans in my book. Say what you want to say, post what you want to post, fine with me. I ejnoy reading constructive criticism of our team. Many of you have opened my eyes to issues involving the team, always good to learn something new. However, there are people who post here who don't really add much depth to the discussion. Doesn't mean they aren't fans, just means I don't spend much time reading what they write. Go Tigers :thumb:

I will admit i was kinda befuddled saturday night, maybe because the anticipation was so great, there was no way it could live up to the hype. We had to travel to the west coast, Chavis' defense gave up alot of yards, but it reminded me of a guy who did the same thing his first game with LSU, Bo Pelini. Remember how badly we got torched at ASU? I think Pelini turned out to be a pretty good Defensive coordinator at LSU. So we will chalk the defensive play up to having to make a long trip, face a great quarterback, maybe the 2nd best we will face all year. Plus i thought this would be a factor, it was late, we were playing football at midnight. They loaded the box, making it hard to run up the middle.

Bright spots, Jordan Jefferson, he made some really nice passes, took some big hits, and brushed them off, this guy is a gamer. Terrance Tolliver, looked like the guy he was recruited to be. Keiland Williams also looked like the guy he was recruited to be. Patrick Peterson may be the best defensive player to ever suit up in Purple and Gold, dude was all over the place.

I'll tell you what I think. Almost all of us will get upset about something, sound off about it, and bitch and moan for while. Sundays are like that. Then most of us wise up a bit, consider the good things, and move on.

It's those few that can't let it go and are still bitching and moaning on Tuesday or Wednesday that begin to annoy folks. Lighten up, guys. All things can be discussed here, but the excess negativity is bringing a lot of us down as a fanbase.

Especially annoying to the many regulars here, people who discuss the Tigers all year long, are those annoying few who only show up after game one and only to complain and rant at length. I don't think this is the right forum for them. I think they annoy the guests and lurkers, too.

Put I think most of us are realistic and our doom and gloom factor falls within the normal range, as does our pumping sunshine factor. A few over-reactors at either end help keep us honest and can be tolerated without questioning their status as a Tiger Fan.

It's too bad reporters (or established bloggers?) aren't allowed more access to the practice fields before the season starts. I'm not saying unlimited and we could certainly excuse them for wildcat, trick plays, etc.

But relying solely on coach-speak for 8 months, with its unbounded and unchecked optimism distorts how raw, (potentially unfit) and unpolished these Tigers currently are.
