Miles, Cameron and Chief are coaches that any program would pursue....we're not immune to coaching raids.

Thought Chief was not interested in a HC job. Guess that could change...

Hugh Freeze made a comment this weekend that the TX defense was exactly the same as it was last weekend. The only difference he cited—based on what they saw on film before the game—was a wrinkle in his goal line defense.

From what I've been told for several years now is the main reason Mack isn't under any more pressure from UT admin now is because UT Pres. Bill Powers and their AD, DeLoss Dodds, are firmly behind Mack.

I, like you, believe he makes it through this season. However, I believe that it'll take a move by their BOT to get Powers or Dodds to remove their support of Mack.

I suspect if we see one go in the off-season we'll see several go.

TX has already made a run at Saban. It wasn't Dodds or Powers but a few of their boosters and board members contacted Sexton.

Their overtures were turned down immediately.

And Nick probably got a promise for another raise or another perk. Jimmy Sexton is the Fonzie of sports agents. Les' agent ain't too shabby either, having turned two Michigan raids into two Les Miles raises.

    Not in this case.

He received a contract extension at the beginning of spring camp. The contact with Sexton happened during summer workouts.

With the exception of using a BOT members plane and having BOT members meet with Saban isn't not that much unlike from Auburn making a run at Petrino. Those from TX's BOT/alumni felt if they received positive news from Sexton they could persuade the rest of the admin to follow along.

A thought crosses my mind as a comparison...

If we compare how secure Bowden was in his job at FSU to Mack at TX it's my opinion Mack is in better shape than Bobby was a few years ago. I see the difference between the two in FSU hiring Eric Barron in the early part of 2010 as their new Pres...Bobby was out not long after that.

That I don't see happening. While the HC job isn't as high profile as UT it still is a heck of a job.

To me Al Golden would be one of the top three names on a short list if I were looking to replace Brown. I suspect they'll follow our SEC UT and make overtures at Gruden along with a few other retired NFL types.

I think he'd be an excellent choice. I wouldn't mind seeing him at LSU in a decade or so.
