Absolutely no way to know that.

I've seen mention of situations around the NCAA and how various schools were sanctioned used as an example of what might happen here. Yet, all of these situations mentioned aren't the same.

There's one important thing to keep in mind here. After the Tank Black ordeal at Florida and before the Reggie Bush deal at USC (hardly comparable to Fluker, but I'm using him for a time mark) the NCAA amended their rules about agents and players involvement.

At the crux of this matter is whether the school knew anything about Fluker receiving money. IF they didn't, the way the rules are read today, a school can't be held responsible. (That's stated with the clear understanding that the two letters "NC" in NCAA should stand for never consistent.)

As time passes I'm becoming more and more convinced this isn't about players getting paid (Johnny Manziel,) players needing money, or anything of that ilk. I'm beginning to see this as another facet of the academic vs athletic fight over where and how money is being spent.

True, but I can't see Nick sticking around a program facing years of scholarship reductions and bowl bans any more than Dennis Francionne did. He will go back to the NFL first.

Absolutely right. Every situation is unique and should be processed as a result of the specific circumstances.

However, at the end of the day if a player screws up to the point his eligibility in a game is compromised it doesn't mean diddley squat if the school knew about it or not. Those games then become compromised and become likely candidates for forfeiture or vacated wins.

    Vacated, yes. Forfeiture? No.

I made a reference someone on this site in the last couple of days about "a lot of wheels moving" in this story. One of those happens to be Charles Robinson. He's stated that he's not turning anything over to the NCAA. This story, along with his others, he still claims are efforts to force changes within the NCAA. If he's not talking...and the others aren't talking...we're sitting in the same situation as we were a few days ago in discussions about Manziel.

Are we at a point where the NCAA now has to actually have evidence in hand and can't go off of he said/she said type of accounts? The way they screwed up the Miami investigation very well may have pushed them to the point where they are actually abiding by their own by-laws.

One of the main reasons LSU is so good during the Miles era at LSU is because the Saban era is at Bama. They bring out the best in us through competition.

Did not see this posted but interesting how it says "There are likely big changes coming, and DeLoss knows it and doesn't want to stand in the way of progress," one source close to the situation told Orangebloods.com.

I did not know it was over there. Thought it would be good here since the discussion in earlier parts of this thread discussed Mack Brown replacing Dodd to Saban going out there.

If they hire that Bowlsby guy, then he will get it turned around. He'll come w/a cost, though. The first thing they need to do is replace that shitty stadium they play in. If they did that, then the sky would be the limit for Texas football.
