Without cheating and looking at their roster, name 5 players on the Pirates roster. There's quite a firesale going on out there and I had 5 on the number -- only because I watched highlights of their game last night and remembered one that I wouldn't otherwise remember.
matt capps andy laroche john grabow andrew mccutchen (deion sanders) brandon moss garrett jones andy van slyke try the padres. position players. deleted
I'd have gotten the Pads easier because they have 2 gimmes with Peavy and Gonzales with Gywnn's son being close to a gimme, too. We're not all buffs like you. The general point outside of the question was more to say: WTF are they trying to do? After 20 years of trading for prospects, you'd have thought they'd have eventually build a Tampa Bay Rays-like nest egg of young players.
I picked up BJones in my fantasy league, so that's the only way I would have been able to name him. I woulda had Capps, Duke, Maholm. Not sure if I coulda gotten anyone else. Maybe Grabow or Laroche.
position players, homie. if by buff you mean loser, i agree. my question is why trade all your best players leaving doumit as your best power hitter id suppose then trading for a power hitter in jeff clement. makes no sense. they trade what they need and get back exactly what they do not. god i hate their owner. they have no idea what they are doing.
anyone who said Grabow and Gorzelanny, they're gone today. To the Cubs -- a division rival of all things. I'm sure the Cubs were generous and gave them some 39 year old slugger in AA ball.
i could have answered this question a few weeks ago. now i can only come up with one pirate, mccutchen. every other pirate i can think of was traded.
