Well the question has been pretty much answered, but --- talk about timing --- Interesting you bring the question up about the Enola Gay. It was named after Mrs. Enola Gay Tibbetts, the mother of Paul Tibbetts. Paul Tibbets died last week in Columbus, OH. Japanese tourists are interesting to behold. While touring the White House, in certain areas, we were instructed to take no photographs or videos. A Japanese group didn't "get it." They started the video cam. Warned. Second time, their ass was outta there. It was not a language issue. They spoke English. I heard them. They were just determined to do what they wanted to do, all the while laughing about it. Being raised as I was to be compliant and respect authority, I was shocked. I was particularly taken by the fact that they would behave in such a manner in a foreign country. Nevertheless, several Japanese tourists were able to tell their friends and folks back in Japan how they saw "part" of the White House. No assistance was needed but I would have gladly helped throw their asses out. Respect is due in certain situations.
That's just freaking sad....I'm glad you tried to set them straight, but the fact they they thought they way at all is just wrong. I'll shut up now, seeing as how this is not free speech. Edit: I lived awhile in Japan. I visited both places, and I promise you this, I never felt one small bit of guilt. Those bastards started it, we finished it. Oops...I said I'd shut up..sorry.

I've actually got duty the day of the OM game...for another squadron, so they can all go to the Ball. Price you pay for being the BOOT. And I'd see another paycheck....I just may not see anymore of that sweet flight pay. :thumb:
For some reason I had "big boy" in my head. But I think you're right, its one of the names you listed. I just looked it up, Little Boy used over Hiroshima and Fat Man used over Nagasaki.
