LSU runs more of an attacking defense. You can look at some of the things I've posted. We will be coming, you just don't know where from.

The last time we were in that Stadium.......

Size is not the reason they run hurry up. They run hurry up to fatigue the Defense and also to audible. They will run a bunch of plays on 1st sound then use a dummy call to see your guys formation and stunts etc to change the play or formation to there advantage.

good insight, it'll be fun to watch and see who can dictate the game.

nobody is talking about the other half of the game, when we will have the ball. i know we're looking at a huge question mark, but what is everybody honestly expecting from the LSU offense?

Your basing everything on one game (AU). Just because AU did or didn't do something, doesn't mean LSU you can do it (or not do it) as well. Different teams with different personnel.

You're correct that if Oregon can't get there tempo going, it'll be tough to wear down the defense. Only Cal & AU have been able to do that. Cal was the classic trap game that Oregon narrowly escaped. I won't mention AU, as we've talked enough about it.

That being said, Oregon's offense over the past 4 years has continually put pressure on their own defense. Oregon hasn't been ranked above 94th in TOP. (2010-102, 2009-115, 2008-120, 2007-94) So it's nothing new for Oregon. Oregon's philosophy is to play as many capible players as possible on defense. DC Nick Allioti said it best in the analogy that it's like a hockey game. There's guys coming over the rail every 3-4 plays like a line change to replace guys to keep everyone fresh for the whole game. Players play out of their minds for 4 snaps, then get replaced by other players for 3-4 plays...over & over. They knew early on that Chip's offense would put that pressure on the defense, so they came up with the plan to counter it. It's worked well. They averaged scoring defense of 23.9 over the past 4 years, which may be high by SEC standards, but considering Oregon averaged 40.9 points per game in the same span, they're doing their job.

I think Oregon's defense could have problems with LSU's running game to begin with. As they did against UT until they adjusted. UT's O-line dominated in the 1st half. They pushed Oregon around. I think that woke up the defense. Then they shut them down in the 2nd half.
I believe part of Oregon's issue in stopping the run against AU, is that Oregon's game plan was to stop Newton at all cost. They didn't game plan for Michael Dyer, and it's hurt them. They under-estimated him IMO. Also IMO, I think that they'll still game plan to stop the RB run first, until JJ makes them change that plan. If JJ does well throwing the ball, then they'll obviously have to adjust to it.

    Again, it's just my opinion.

With Krag coming in and working with JJ, it's hard to tell right now. If he comes out as advertised, your offense will look really good. From what I've read, his biggest issue has been between his ears (decision making). Is that the case?

oh yeah, definitely his issue. he has all the physical tools to be an all american, just needs to be sharper and quit making drive-killing mistakes. i try to stay optimistic and think that he'll have a jason campbell-esque turnaround, but i honestly believe that the new coaching will help JJ improve by leaps and bounds. crowton turned out to be a dud, i know you can appreciate that.
