I have been doing some reading on Oregon and watching some film and my best guess is that we will see a bit of the triple options spread attack.

My main rational for this attack is their depth at RB and lack of depth at WR.

I actually think this works out better for our D, but will strongly depend on our front 7 and it if turns out to be true, I look for:
    · Mingo
    · Baker
    · TRex
    to have huge games.
Would most likely see some safety blitz packages in this I would assume too.

    Thoughts?

i know they ran from the shotgun when LMJ got blowed up for the safety against auburn.

they try to run triple option from it to create space up the gut since they are a pac-10 team. undisciplined defenses pay the price.

    auburn wasnt.

I welcome the spread option, this years defense is built much more for speed and I dont see us struggling with speedy attacks, its the power attacks that I think are going to give us fits.

Don't forget about Big Sam. I cannot wait for him to take the field again. He was by far the biggest loss for us last season. I really think we could have won both games we lost if Montgomery wouldn't have been injured.

I can agree to that. I think our mid is a bit light and young, but will shall see before the bulk of our SEC play.

Same here. Oregon will have/has had much more success in the PAC since they're not used to it. They love pro style offenses. A running QB gives their DC's fits. We'll be ready.

I agree with you, from watching the Oregon spring game and the NC game it seems they will run this alot. I believe our corners will win the battle against their WRs throughout the majority of the game. I see them running misdirections, and running on the outside.
I'll say TM and SM will have big games.

    Good points.

I still think our O blew donkey bawls in those games but Sam and Taylor are gonna be huge to have back....

We are really going to have a VERY good D this year...

well it comes down to confidence. if a defense second guesses itself and plays from its heels it will get ugly. this is what oregon does to most defenses. it will be tough regardless.

hopefully it looks more like that last point on the graph than the first.

Some thought GT would run the triple option all over us a few years back, if I remember correctly that didn't bode well for them... I look forward to Oregon running this offense... They don't have the speed to reach the corners before our defense grabs them.
