The announcers just said the Florida State mens team has just gotten enough points to win their third straight NCAA championship in men's outdoor track and field, a three-peat.
This is going to be awesome. LSU and ASU women are tied with one event left, it all comes down to which 4X100 team beats the other, here we go...
On the men's side, we had some people who just didn't step up and perform as expected. Chad Radgowski, the All-American javelin thrower was expected to get fourth (5 points), but didn't even make the final. The men's 4x400 relay team also failed to make the final for the first time in a looonnnnggggg time, and they were ranked as high as third (6 points). A minor ding was Trindon getting beat by Travis Padgett in the 100 for the first time ever, which meant that he and Richard finished 1-3 (16 points) instead of 1-2 (18 points). They were`also counting on hurdler Ryan Fontenot to make the final, but he missed out by one hundreth of a second in the semifinals.
I know there was some debate on here on the subject... As I expected it is highly unlikely Trindon will not turn pro and will be back for the Auburn game should he make the Olympic team. We will have him on the football and track teams for at least another year. http://media.www.lsureveille.com/me...d.If.Holliday.Doesnt.Return.619-3383516.shtml
Also Kelly Baptiste and Richard Thompson will run the 100M in the Olympics. http://www.wafb.com/Global/story.asp?S=8541799&nav=menu57_4
