Trindon's getting some love at CBS Sports. This article is on Trindon in particular. Football player or sprinter? LSU's Holliday on track in both - NCAA Football - CBSSports.com And this article is on the fastest players in college football. Burning Tigers, speeding demons: Maclin, Holliday a dream match - NCAA Football - CBSSports.com
interesting " It's just that Holliday's body isn't classic for either sport. Shaver doubts that Holliday could turn pro as a sprinter. "He just doesn't have that kind of build that companies are going to make a huge investment in."" i dont get it. if he ends up running 9.7s they wont invest in him because he's atypical? didnt they invest in the weird michael johnson?
Man, what a great link with the youtube and the race. I liked the part about FASTEST FOOTBALL PLAYER IN HISTORY, EVEN THE NFL Trindon is even faster than Bob Hayes and the rest. He's gonna be back! I can close my eyes and see the "blur" right now! Game # 4: He sits on the sideline and AU is lulled into sleep. We pound them with the run game and they have their "beefy slower" lineup to stop the run. The Play: :milesmic: pulls a fast "substitution" and Holiday jumps onto the field. It's a reverse, and he rockets around the end, makes two or three jukes and leaves AU looking for "where he was" and he heads toward the end zone. Touchdown, LSU! Track guy is right, he's got poor technique. He pulls right in his lane early, he could get out quicker, and his arms are all over the place, and he's too damn short for anything over 100m. He could improve and be better at 100m and even beat Green's 6.39 eventually in the 60m, but he'll make more with FB, especially with 2 NC rings, especially if he breaks a couple of long returns for six this year.
Why is Travis Padgett only ranked #10 for the 100m? I looked up the 100m progression stats on IAAF.org for those 10 people who appear to be the top candidates to represent the US for Gold in the 100m in August at the 2008 Olympics, and based on their times, it seems to me that Gay, Holliday, and Padgett appear to be the best three in the US for the 100m. That was done yesterday at an IAAF meet in New York (the Reebok Grand Prix). Also note that Tyson Gay (USA) finished in second place behind "Lightning" Bolt at the race yesterday, with a time of 9.85. It looks like Usain "Lightning" Bolt, Asafa Powell and Tyson Gay will be the three favorites for the 100m at the 2008 Olympics in August: 9.72 -- Usain "Lightning" Bolt (Jamaica) -- May, 2008 (New York, USA) 9.74 -- Asafa Powell (Jamaica) -- September 2007 (Rieti, Italy) 9.76 -- Usain "Lightning" Bolt (Jamaica) -- March 2008 (Kingston, Jamaica) 9.77 -- Asafa Powell (Jamaica) -- August 2006 (Zurich, Switzerland) 9.77 -- Asafa Powell (Jamaica) -- June 2006 (Gateshead, England) 9.77 -- Asafa Powell (Jamaica) -- June 2005 (Athens, Greece) 9.84 -- Tyson Gay (USA) -- June 2007 (Indianapolis, USA) 9.84 -- Tyson Gay (USA) -- August 2006 (Zürich, Switzerland) 9.85 -- Tyson Gay (USA) -- May 2008 (New York, USA) 9.85 -- Olusoji Fasuba (Nigeria) -- May 2006 (Doha, Qatar)
The day has finally arrived for Trindon to avenge his 2007 loss to Walter Dix. The 100 final takes place at 8:45 PM CST on CSTV (aka CBS College Sports Network). Trindon, Richard Thompson and Dix are all in the final. The important thing is that Trindon and Richard go 1-2, though I'm sure Trindon would like to beat his teammate at least once this season. But before the 100 final, LSU and Florida State will hook up in the 4x100 final at 7:15 PM. The LSU women are in good shape so far, and will have three people in the women's 100 final. Both the men and women are favored to win the 4x100 relays.
100 Meters: Trindon finishes 3rd, Thompson finishes 1st.
