I played DB in High School, and unfortunately, that call goes to the WR 99 out of 100 times. Just the way it goes.
I thought during the game that this was absolutely classless to just try to inflate the stats against the 2nd team defense, and then try to recover an onside fumble, including delivering an unnecessary blow to Scott. But then after giving it a thought, he did what a coach should do, not give up on his kids. As for Les Miles decision to put in the 2nd team defense on the field, it was a risky move, but I do understand his decision. The Buckeyes were not a very disciplined team and would have taken some cheap shots knowing that the game is out of hand, and a lot of those guys on our defense are going to the NFL, so Les Miles yet again proves he is a players' coach and is not just worried about winning games, but about his players' futures. lassy move though by Les Miles to just take a knee instead of rubbing it in to make the score look good for the media.
tOSU played with great heart. I admire them now a lot more than I did before the game. It is a class program and I am glad we had to beat them to win a title. They were a great opponent to test yourself against. I hope other schools will feel that way when they play LSU.
It is a shame that some LSU fans do not know how to be good winners. Tressel is one of college's best coaches and I found nothing but class in his post-game remarks.
I think Miles just wanted to give some backups a chance to play in the NC game. Can't really fault him for thinking about his people.
This post and the initial point of the thread is garbage. Cheap shots knowing the game is out of hand? Learn to win with a little grace. Your post is a disgrace to good LSU fans.
you may have missed this sentence" he countered his initial thought. i think the initial thread is insane, however.
I have to admit I don't know your team too well, but cheap shots are always possible by someone who has a lot of pent up frustration and aggression. However, I do believe that a classy coach like Tressel would not have allowed that (as do the majority of the Ohio St. team, I believe).
