i'm glad to see that most of the board on here agrees that it was simply playing the game out until it was over. I couldn't hardly believe what i was reading in the first post. Tressel is all class all the time. I appreciate the good wishes for us against USC next season, but all i know is we better bring a way better game than we've been bringing to big games lately. Laurinaitis, Gholston, and Jenkins are all most likely to leave, so what already looked like a suspect defense last night will be missing it's 3 best players, but anyways, congrats on your win, you guys are real cool around here, and i wish you nothing but the best in the future, unless of course we meet again, lol. Go Bucks!
I don't consider Tressel a worm. Now Earl Bruce I would call a worm. This win was sweet for all us older Tigers who had one loss and a tie against OSU back in the late 80's. I'm looking forward to see what USC does to OSU next season.
Exactly! Most if not all Tiger fans disagree with you TC. You are wrong, Let it geaux and enjoy the win. You seem like a sore winner to me.:dis:
I think Tressell is a stand up guy. You have to keep playing until the clock is all 00:00. I think you also have to get your other kids in the game as well. How rare is it to play in a NC game. LSU the only two time winners says it all. You may not get back and my opinion is if all the kids got you there, then let all of them have the oppertunity to say they got to play. I don't care that Les took out the D. I don't care that OSU scored late or kicked the onside. They showed heart to keep playing, I would not have respected them if they layed down. My congrats to the OSU fans, you guys showed some class. :crystal: :crystal: :crystal: :miles:
He's doing what a coach is paid to do. This was the national championship game, you just don't roll over and die . . . you play football for 60 minutes. We were running the football and playing a bunch of reserves, Ohio State just gave it up. This was the national championship game, you just don't quit because you are ahead . . . you play football for 60 minutes.
Lighten up TC. We just won the championship. OSU is a class organization with a quality head coach. They played to the end as hopefully we would do in that situation. Nobody likes a sore loser and even less, a sore winner. Be gracious in victory. And good luck to OSU next year. Go demolish the Trojans.
Are you really that dumb, or are you just trying to p!ss off our OSU visitors? Let me ask you this: If we're down by 2 TD's and our O just went 60+ yards for a TD in less than a minute, would you want Miles to just say "Phuck it. We lost", then kick it deep and let the opponent run out the clock? Hell NO!!! Try like hell to get the onside kick, then damn right, call your timeouts. Fumbled snaps do Happen. But if you don't call the TO, there is no opportunity for it to happen. No way in hell do you ever concede victory, especially not in the NC game. WTH are you thinking man?
I call those lil TD's at the end of games that are in hand a cosmetic touchdown. I thought both coaches showed a lot of class- Miles really impresses me with his sincere pride in our State/Program, especially being a northener. I couldn't help but feel sorry for Tressel and his team, wth do you do after making it to the NC game two years in a row and getting dominated by two different programs from the same conference? They have to be scratching their heads. Miles is getting more and more comfortable being in front of cameras and speaks better, more naturally, relaxed. He had to let out something for the media to have fun with though... "Wahoo".
Tressel is a class guy. No Ands, Ifs or Buts. The man is well-respected. Miles gave him and his program very nice props in the post-game. The OSU fans were very nice, and respectful. They travel extremely well. They are a nice representation of the program. I would play them anytime. And that TD was not a gimme. If we don't get a bogus PI call on Jai, whose position on the ball was better than the receiver, they don't get that TD. That PI call was the worst call of the game.
