I guess the point was the extra touchdown LSU scored. That is why they drove down the field. No other reason. Plus, if he had just laid down and quit after driving down the field for a score, regardless of what team he was facing, everyone in Ohio would have gone nuts. That is all the onside kick was. I know I was upset when LSU scored the extra touchdown. Understand it was too early, but i know I was upset. That game was a 2 score game in LSU's favor, and I wanted the scoreboard to show that. I guess Jim did as well.
Dude, if ever we're down 2 scores with a Minute and a half left, Miles damn sure BETTER kick an onsides kick. And guys on the coverage team, SHOULD be hitting the receiver hard enough to jar the ball loose. It was absolutely the right coaching move, no question.
Tressel is a very classy coach. He coaches for 4 quarters which is all you can ask out of a coach. It was just a minor moral victory for OSU to score that last TD. Nothing wrong with that. And on the onside kick: that is how you do it. If you have seen one before, you know you have to hit the guy with the ball as hard as you can to try to force a fumble. I agree that Les should have kept the defensive starters in. The 2nd team looked and played cluelessly. Although the game was decided at that point, you still want to stop the offense and excecute the plays effectively. Oh well, it's all insignificant considering the big picture...WE"RE NATIONAL CHAMPS!
Thanks bro...I hope you stay around cause I know most of us will be pulling for you guys against USC...You guys have a good team, let's just hope the juniors stay one more year.
I'll do my best to stop by on occasion, my current favorite stop outside BP is the michigan board, so I enjoy outside discussion. Hopefully y'all return the favor on there, I know we've loved having you guys on there. Quite a welcome change from the UF counterparts last year, much more like the awesome Texas visitors.
I don't think this thread deserves merit. Tressel is the classiest head coach in the college ranks. Period. True gentleman in the era of Sabans/Petrinos/Stoops.
Les Miles is the classiest head coach in the college ranks. I had nothing against Tressel before this game. But if you go back and watch that last 1:30, I'm sorry, those coaching decisions came from a sore loser looking to put a thumb in the eye of a superior coach and Michigan alum. :milesmic:
You make no sense. Miles, up by 14, throws a TD pass on 2 and goal with 1:50 to play instead of running more clock to end the game. Do you call him classless and a sore winner? And yet you label Tressel classless for not giving up and trying to score.:insane:
