Chris Bass committed a few days ago.

He is very happy Trent is at LSU because Brady was not recruiting him. Said getting an offer from LSUwas a dream come true.

Agreed. I found it interesting and probably personal that CJB wasn't recruiting this kid. Maybe hard feelings vs Brandon for going pro too early?

In any case, this kid was an underrated PG who is already got the athletic part. Now, the question is can he be coached up? I have more faith in Trent being able to do that than Brady and Butch would have. Let's see if LSU starts to get a rep for developing its guards.

    Good job, Trent!

Besides this, I remember a few accounts of Chris Bass during last summer's AAU ball. He played for an AAU team sponsored actually by Brandon, the Bass Elites. He was known for his dribbling and quickness, penetration and getting his teammates involved. Not sure if he's a great scorer or shooter, but honestly, LSU has lacked a real athletic penetrating PG for a while (Tack was the closest thing in a while, but he was not a true point), and even if we have a quick, physical point to apply defensive pressure at the point, that's a key job for a point.

It's interesting to me Bass's story though. For whatever reason, Chris transferred from Capital to a little tiny private school in Maine, Lee Academy. Looks like the school really caters to it's academics and a handful of sports, including basketball. No statistics are available online, but the team went 16-11 this winter. Also, you'd be surprised that this little school in Maine appears to be a "basketball school" in the sense that the school actually gets some props in the high school hoops world, with kids from all over the world coming to play hoops there:

I think that the school kind of has a rep for getting their basketball kids to mid-majors or majors. For example, Chris Bass's teammate, Nate Tomlinson is a 3 star who signed with Colorado, and Chris Baskerville signed with a Connecticut college. Seems like a good environment to come out of for a coach like CTJ...
