all it would take is alittle effort on the tailgaters part. Our spot isnt perfect when we leave but we pick up damn near everything in our area and is the cans are full we stack the stuff in small piles alongside the cans. To bad everyone doesnt feel the same way!
last year after a game, i drove through campus on sun morning and got behind one of the garbage trucks picking up trash. they pretty much made matters worse. first of all the trash cans were piled higher than theyn should have been and it was obvious more are needed!! but, on top of that, the garbage men were so careless about dumping the trash in the trash truck, a lot of what was in each can just fell in the street. and i mean A LOT. they would just kick it to the curb. so what had been in a trash can was just left to litter the street. i was disgusted. between that and some tailgate spots that were left without any regard to picking up trash, the campus looked awful!!!
There was a lot of trash in our area until LSU started putting out more cans. They also have started putting out tall cardboard boxes lined with a trash bag and people are using them.
