I heard Herbstreit remark during the Stanford game that LSU is the first team to face 3 top 5 teams since the 1946 Army team (although I thought he actually referenced it as 3 top 3, which is not true). The 1945 Army team had a similiarly tough schedule. Comparing the top 5 highest ranked teams each faced: .Army 45....Army 46....LSU ....2................2.........2 ....2................4.........3 ....6................5.........3 ....9...............11.......12 ...19...............13.......16 Army played 10 games (going 10-0 and 9-0-1, respectively), LSU will have played 13 plus a bowl game. LSU making it to the BCS title game would now mean LSU would have faced 4 top 3 teams, probably the only time in the history of college football that this has ever happened. In fact I would be shocked if it wasn't. LSU has also faced the #17, #19 and #24 teams.
How many on tv and in the press will actually give lsu credit for the season they have had. Too many still say we are lucky and bama is better. Some will never give us the credit we deserve.
That's exactly right. Kick Bama's azz the second time around and silence all those tools on the Bama wagon.
Well, the good news is that after we beat Bama a second a time, the world will accept what we already know.
I posted this on another thread, but I'll repeat since it applies. Bob Ryan on ESPN's Sports Reporters this morning. When asked if he thought the Packers can go undefeated, he said,"Its important to consider the schedule. If they were playing LSU's schedule, I'd say no."
Every one that votes. We're unanimous #1 for the, what, 3rd week? It's not about LSU it's about who's #2. We're in.
where does Oklahoma's schedule of 2000 rank? they went undefeated. this was stoops second year, back when they had a defense which his brother was obviously the catalyst behind it. #1 Nebraska #2 Kansas St #3 Florida St #8 Kansas St (rematch) #11 Texas #23 Texas A&M
