I keep debating this in my head, but I haven't seen either team much this year. What do you think? Ole Miss seems like they've been erratic, giving some quality teams some trouble, and struggling against lesser teams. Arkansas...well, they have the Felix McFadden Monster and the Razorbacks are known for causing us trouble for no good reason. Of course both games are almost must-wins (almost b/c LSU is playing for the SEC Championship regardless.)
you could say ole miss b/c it's on the road but i think ark who has a slight edge on defense and the backfield from H-E-double hockey sticks!!!
with Monk back...Id say Ar-kansas. Although, I know Felix Jones was hurt last week and Im not certain on his status for the rest of the year.
Monk shouldn't be a factor, because Dick can't get him the ball accurately and consistently. He's got to be the worst QB in the SEC. Watched the replay of the TN game and TN consistently put 8 in the box and brought them hard most plays. McFelix never really got loose to hurt them. If we do what we do best, which is stop the run, then AR may be the easiest game we have all year. Our corners can cover well enough to mitigate any advantage Monk might have, which I think is minimal. I'm going with Ole Miss as the tougher of the 2, although I don't think it will be that close. 1 thing I'll add is that we have scored no less than 28 in every game this year. I can see this being the game that we score less. 17-7 is my prediction.
I just can't see Ole Miss putting up much of a fight. They shouldnt' be able to move the ball past midfield all game long. We play decently well and we win by 4 touchdowns. Arkansas's running attack was very difficult for us to handle last year and almost cost us a BCS bowl berth. I think we will contain them enough to win by 2 touchdowns+, but it will probably be close for a half or so.
your right....however, without Monk you can key in on McFadden and Jones. Monk adds a threat...be it a pass from McFadden or Dick just throwing it up for grabs to him, he still adds a presence. Anyway, the question is whose tougher...IMO they are roughly equal and the addition of Monk gives Ar-kansas the edge.
I voted for Ole Miss and by the time I got to reply I had almost talked my way out of it. Play at their place, they usually play us tough, it used to be a hell of a rivalry many years ago, so i'll go with my vote. I also believe the "Dorsey Defense" will shut that Arkansas running game down or at least slow it down considerably.
