It is just the first game, so it's insane to pass judgment on this year's team at this point. The question that constantly nags me, however, is when we will see an LSU team make consistent, significant improvement from week to week. The end of a season is when a good team is at its peak and plays its best football. It's not like Les hasn't done it before. 2005 and 2006 quickly come to mind after early-season setbacks. But I can honestly look at last year's team at the beginning of January and see the same quality team we started with 4 months prior to that. Something is not right, and whatever it is has to change. Here's another one. Why are we still begging and hoping for this team to actually play 4 quarters of focused football? If nothing else that is a mindset and a culture that should be drilled into players and coaches alike. UNC showed that we're still way too predisposed to ease up on the throttle. Best way to answer that is to whip Vandy thoroughly.
