.... been reading through some of the threads.... wow! I think I'll wait until you're 4-0 at the end of September to debut my new comedy act. Most of "the sky is falling" posts come after a bad loss, not a close win. I'd say take the win, count it towards bowl eligibility, if nothing else, and move on to the Vandy game... half the teams that played yesterday are 0-1.
:geaux: I'm with you Hawk. Sad to see this meltdown after an ugly win. Can you imagine what it'll be like after a loss? :rolleye33: :LSU231:
At last, a voice of reason! Thanks for stopping by and offering an unbiased opinion. See you guys had it easy with Eastern Illinois. Nice safe start. Good luck this year.
It was almost this bad last year following the Washington win. Unfortunately, we know that the mistakes the Tigers made really won't be corrected after witnessing last season. So, we rant.
Good post, Hawk. I think it's sad that such wisdom has to come from a fan of another school, but that's life. Best of luck to you and your team.
Fortunately the drive-by bitchers won't return until next time. The local gloomers will settle down a bit today. Nick once had a 24-hour rule that was a good one. Don't celebrate a win more than 24 hours and don't grieve over a loss more than 24 hours. Move on. It works that way on Sundays at TF, too. The ranters rant, everybody blows off some steam, then we move on. We must play an SEC team on the road this week. Still no cupcake for a young LSU team to work on. But, you are correct, sir. Grieving after a win is senseless.
It is easy to forget how young these guys are, especially the secondary. I made a promise to myself this year not to get so emotionally involved. Of course, I make that promise every year, but so far, two days later, I'm still doing OK. Or maybe it's just that I have other things to worry about this year. Definitely ready to move on to next week and see how much progress is made.
I think having such a young team is rewarding. I look forward to seeing them all get better from week to week. Next week is Vandy, and we'll see what we've learned. I just wish more fans had the patience and foresight to see that this is still a work in progress.
