Strange observation. I know most Buckeye fans, myself included, would easily admit the SEC was better this year. Honestly, I dont care much for the whole who's conference has a bigger pair argument. My support of the Big 10 goes as far as my immediate love for the Buckeye's. If Big 10 win's mean OSU gets more respect, then Im all for it. But end of the day, I care as much about how the Purdue's and Michigan States do as I care about how South Carolina or Tennessee. I support the Buckeyes, and as much as people down the Big 10, I know OSU is consistently one of the best TEAMS in the country, bottom line.
I'm not making it up...Just look at all the national boards and forums..It's all out there...That's why I only post here, cause we are all Tiger fans and not interested in that conference superiority debate...It is pretty har to convince a person that something is black when they're convinced that it is white, so I just don't waste my time and only talk to people that have a similar point of view.
In 92 both Stanford and washington finished in the top 10; Zona in 93, AZ St was 4th in 96; UCLA 5th in 97; both zona and UCLA finished in the top 10 in 98; Wash finished 3rd in 2000 and Oregon was 5th; Oregon finished #2 in 2001.... so I guess it's all in how you define "contender".
I hear ya, Aaaall year I've had to hear about how ****ty the Big 10 is, and how the SEC is god's gift to football. No doubt its out there. And I dont disagree that the SEC might be the best conf. in the country. They just overhype it. Like they overhype how FLA was going to crush Mich. Or, OU similarly to WVU. I post here, because it seems LSU fans, like OSU fans, are smart enough to not buy into that garbage. My guess is a team like georgia's board is blowing up about how the big 10 is the worst conference in the nation (because they have something to gain by bitching about it and buying into it.) Likewise, I have VT fans crying to me constantly about how the Big 10 is garbage, just because they think they had a better case for playing you guys (but VT fans, lets not go there).
