I can tell you this, Les Miles would not have kicked an on-sides kick in the 3rd qtr when only trailing by 4points and your team has all the momentum. The "intimidating" Bob Stoops made this asinine call. How stupid was that call? Les wouldn't have done that and took the rik of killing the momentum of his team and giving the opponent great field position. Especially when the defense just made WV go 3 and out. That is bad coaching.
Dumbazz Doyle was born in Hawaii, grew up in Mississippi, and went to school in Georgia......enough said about his intellect!
The story is just plain coercive in that it portrays Miles as a lone entity without making any attempt to describe the relationship he has with, or the quality of, the rest of the LSU coaching staff. And is it not additionally appauling to see that this guy writes for CBS? The same CBS that telecasts SEC football more than any other network? :geaux:
Ah, but he did do something, offshore. In 45 seconds flat, he ruined the big story that they had all taken it upon themselves to write/report before it happened: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wr_uQrP10DY&feature=related You can bet it will be a long time before the national media forget or forgive CLM.
OK, this is what I really wanted to say about Doyle (without trying to sound like him myself). How can this man talk about how anyone else "looks"....I mean, take a good look at him. I'd take Les than Doyle any day! Geaux Tigers!
 Hate him all you want but he IS a great coach. And Buckeye507, FWIW, after the Rose Bowl the Illini players said that ya'll would get your azzez handed to you by USC.
Do great coaches lose at home to a 40 point underdog with it's back up QB? Do great coaches whine about injuries costing them the games? If yes then there are 100s of great coaches out there.
Great coaches set records by being the first team to win 11 games a year in 6 consecutive seasons among the MANY records that have been set. Great coaches take a failing team and in 2 years turn them into a flying success. Great coaches see the entire country as a recruiting opportunity rather than just looking in their own backyards. Great coaches accept responsibility for bad decisions that result in losses. PC never "whined" about injuries. He spoke frankly of them as any coach would. Look at the great coaches in history and you'll find plenty of unexpected losses. It's not the losses that define a great coach. If you really believe that our loss to Stanford defines PC's greatness or lack thereof, you are delusional beyond reason. Also, why not discuss with K_Jay? His very first comment in the post I responded to was this: one game does not make or break a coach, or at least it shouldn't
And having to a defend a coach that has lost a grand total of 6 games in 3 years, an SECC, possible MNC, and guarenteed 3 straight top 5 finishes is ridiculous. USC's loss to Stanford doesn't define PC, I agree 100%. But the fact is, all the "great" college football coaches as defined by the media (Carroll, Stoops, Saban, M.Brown,Meyer, etc.) have far more inexcusable losses and decisions in games than the coach everyone loves to kick and make fun of. Let em keep underestimateing Miles, he and LSU will just keep on kicking ass and taking names.
