So dumb. Ranking the teams strictly based on win pct. requires absolutely zero analysis. Basically, there is no difference between this article(?) and and Excel spreadsheet.

Same here, once I saw they had Boisie State #1 I totally dismissed the article as pure garbage and not worth taking the time to copy and paste the link. He has to be the only guy on the planet that thinks Boisie State should even be in the top ten teams of the decade.:dis::dis::dis:

That's not a bad list really. I have no complaints about it, and it can be argued that the current LSU stars have not yet shined. However if RJF and Sen'Derrick Marks both declare for the NFL this year, RJF will be drafted higher, possibly Top 10. And that does not even mention Tyson Jackson. He has a year like his sophomore year, and he is possibly Top 10 as well.

LSU gets a ton of ink about being "the most talented team in the league" when Les's coaching ability is being discussed. But start discussing actual talent, and LSU drops off the radar?

Ciron Black and Tyson Jackson have paid their dues, won trophies, and are going to be high NFL picks. At least one of them rated making a top-10 list.

We're 89-37 (.706) in the last 10 years. Like Red said earlier, give it 2 years and we might top the list.

I agree with you but I just don't put too much stock in these lists anyway. Same as hearing announcers go on and on about us being so talented year after year. We do get talent, but so does Oklahoma, Texas, Tenn., Georgia, Florida, USC, Michigan, and even Notre Dame. I hear those compliments about LSU, and see it as more of an excuse to not give Miles credit for player development.

Maybe winning a second :crystal: has mellowed me somewhat. I almost enjoy the snubs, as it makes our victories more sweet to me.

I agree - I actually kind of smirk at the snubs. And I think a little disrespect, real or perceived, goes a long way to keeping the team focused. Perhaps part of USC's inability to dominate like their recruiting says they should is the fact that everyone just expects the world of them every year. Takes almost superhuman discipline to stay on top - sometimes it's better to be rated as #6 but feel like you're #1.

You bring up a very good point here. I think I'm more relaxed entering this season than the past ten years or so.

Maybe having been at the top twice in the past five years has taken the "GOTTA GET THERE" edge off.

I think I'll actually enjoy this season more than the past several as expectations are high, but each game won't seem so much make or break. Don't get me wrong - I want to see the Tigers win 'em all - but I don't think it will be the same degree of pressure this season.:eek:ldskule:

I say let them keep that chip on their shoulders. Complacency is a team's worst enemy. Keep them down. Keep them hungry.
