And of course, after I go and say that it the Mitchells and Ricky Dixon must be disappointing, Jared goes off and has a very good game. The radio guys were saying that coaches think he will EVENTUALLY be a great receiver.
Honestly though, it is the only reason I can see us going after a JUCO receiver. Actually, I suppose even if Jared is fine, if Chris and Ricky Dixon aren't doing it, we only have 4 returning receivers next year who are good. I suppose they might want insurance in that case. Still though, we're getting commits from high school wideouts left and right, and we're expected to get at least 3 more before it's all said and done (Tolliver, Brown, and Benton) to add to Molton, Peterson, and J. Taylor. I'm still not understanding what we want with a JUCO.
This year's recruit Peterson is an all around athlete that could play multiple positions, and J. Taylor may be a DB. The key though is that Tolliver, Brown, Benton, and J. Taylor all have grade concerns. If we go JUCO, it will be because we need to ensure we get enough guys actually on campus.
I think will Benton will make the grade. I also think Chris Mitchell will continue to improve. Toliver, Byrd, and Jared have already shown flashes of greatness and will be very good next year. That means we will have Lafell, Benton, both Mitchells, Tolliver, Byrd, then the incoming recievers. We will be fine. LSU always has a great recieving corps.
