As of right now Louisiana is not shaping up to be a big year for quarterbacks. All the top ones seem to be out-of-state.
Other guys to keep an eye on are: Chris Faulk, OT out of Northshore High, Slidell. Could be the state's top prospect next year. No relation to Kevin or Trev Faulk. He is 6-6 and weighs 290 lbs with the goal of weighing 310 by the time he enters college. Athlete Montrell Connor out of Ouachita High, Monroe. He plays RB in high school, but has the size and frame to play any number of positions.
I'd personally go with: 1. Rueben Randle 2. Chris Davenport 3. Michael Ford 4. Montrell Conner 5. Eddie Lacy 6. D.J. Banks 7. Chris Faulk 8. Darrington Sentimore 9. Josh Downs 10. Kenny Bell 11. Alex Singleton 12. Patrick Lewis 13. Kelvin York 14. Kenny Cain 15. Carneal Ainsworth 16. Kendrick James 17. Clint Boykins 18. Tahj Jones 19. Cameron Blakes 20. Richard Wilson A very, very top heavy class with some decent talent beyond the top 10 and little after the top 20-25. Those top 10 guys, though, are all probably top 250 talents. We only need 13-14 instate players next year so it bodes well for us having a very good class.
If you're talking about Russell Shepard, his stats for the last two years do not look terribly impressive.
Tyler Glynn, corner from West Monroe is the biggest sleeper in my eyes. He got Defensive MVP at camp at LSU last year as a Sophomore. I looked at his past stats from Kentucky, and he got All-State in track and he came right in and started for West Monroe. You can see a vid. on Rivals of last year i think.
