Well guys as this season has winded down were possibly about to win our 2nd National title in 6 yrs not bad. Recruting has'nt been anything to scream from the moutain tops about but we will finish top 8 for sure alot of capable recruits we should be fine, we may finish with a highly touted recruit but a solid class anyway.... I've decided to talk about a few guys that i have seen play and if we can get them to sign a letter on intent next year we may have a 1 or 2 ranked recruiting class next year... First up and these are not in any particular order 1. Chris Davenport 6ft-3" 320 lbs- Defensive Tackle from Mansfield,LA I have seen him 3 times this year and he hasnt been blocked yet his stats are just ridiculos. read that he went to camp in new orleans and no one could block him there either....gives me goose bumps.. likely will be the number 1 rated DT in the country next year especially after summer camps in 2008. 2. Reuben Randle 6ft-3" 190lbs- Wide Reciever from Bastrop,LA I saw him 2 times he is a great athlete love his football speed needs to practice his route running absolutely great after the catch... will be a 5 star also possible top 5 national prospect at reciever... 3.Montrelle Conner 6ft-2" 210- Athlete from Ouachita,LA I only saw him 1 time have had some friends look at him more id like to see LSU get bigger in the secondary especially dealing with tebow and moreno he could play CB or put 10-15 more pounds on and play weakside LB...I neeed to see him play more next year and ill get back to you guys on this one..but a great athlete.. 4.Micheal Byrd 5ft-9" 190lbs- Running Back from Leesville,LA likely a 5 star bye scout.com.. he is very elusive and fast stronger than u may think just looking at his physical stats i was very impressed would do well in a spread attack if crowton ever gets the ok to actually implement his offense. i think if we miss on one of these top recruits it will be this one....I like him 5. Eddie Lacy 5ft-11 - Running Back from Dutchtown- ive only seen film on this kid he will likely be 4star dont know how hard we will actually recruit him no opinion on him right now gotta see him in person next year which i will make sure to do...
micheal ford is correct not byrd....i was watching espn they were showing the pass from flynn to byrd to beat auburn guess i got happy...
We will not miss out on Ford. He & Davenport are all-LSU. We won't miss out on Randle either. He wants to stay close to home.
Ford's size really doesn't mean much as long as he has good strength in his lower body. Domanick Davis was 5'9. He weight a bit more, I believe, but the point still stands.
Presuming LSU gets commitments from Randle, Ford(who would be ranked much higher if not for his injury this year) ,one of the other top LA RBs, Davenport and one of the Texas QBs, LSU will have a definite Top 3 ranking next year. Maybe #1 depending on who else LSU gets commitments from.
