The more I look at our roster, the more I think we’ll be ok at LB. Brooks does need to beef up, but I love him and Clark in the middle with both of them pass rushing in obvious situations. Then use Anthony and Thornton at OLB, and use Stevens in that SS/LB hybrid and we’ll be set. Start working in Sampah and White as needed to get them up to speed.
Brooks will definitely play rush edge. I really do think Stevens is gonna help man the middle a lot this season. He'll play some safety as well but a ton of ILB. Clark may end up inside as well, but he's versatile and can play rush edge so we'll see. I think it all depends where he's needed more. We got some guys.....
That’s an awesome video. Here is another I saw yesterday. Aside from the numbers 15 and 9, you think it’s the same player.
The pass to McMath to the sidelines for the TD should have been at the very least defended, but that's where you see the difference in his arm strength vs Burrow. Burrow throws that ball at the exact same time, it's knocked down, maybe even intercepted. This kid is mega talented. There is no doubting that.
Next season will be his 4th year on campus. He must know everybody pretty damned well by now. He needs to claim it as HIS TEAM right now and do summer workouts with all his receivers the way Burrow did. I don't expect him to have the pocket prescence, the internal clock in his head and total situational awareness to make the instant right decisions that Burrow did but as close as he can. I wish Brady was back for one more year to work with him.
Myles was a 70% passer in his Senior year HS and threw for over 15,000 yards in three years. Compare stats to Clemson’s Trevor Lawrence with 13,750 in 4 years at QB. With good playcalling, Myles could hit near 70% again but how can anyone expect he hit the 77% bar set by Burrow.
I expect greatness from Brennan next season. My projection during the 12 game regular season: 3,600 passing yards 40 passing TDs
With this offense I can see 3600 or even 4000 but 40 will be tough unless he can throw open tightly covered receivers. That takes pinpoint accuracy and perfect timing.
