1. "The Run." Explanation not required. 2. Tommy Hodson's pass to Eddie Fuller in the 1988 "Earthquake Game." 3. Marcus Randall's pass to Devery Henderson against Kentucky in the 2002 "Bluegrass Miracle" game. 4. Matt Flynn's last second pass to Demetrius Byrd in the 2007 LSU-Auburn game. LSU went on to win the National Championship 5. Bert Jones' game-winning pass to Brad Davis with no time left in the 1972 Ole Miss game. It produced perhaps the longest sustained cheer in Tiger Stadium history. The game was controversial because Ole Miss fans claimed the clock ran out 4 seconds earlier. However, the official clock showed one second left. The game inspired a sign at the Louisiana-Mississippi state line that read "You are now entering Louisiana. Set your clocks back 4 seconds." Final Score: LSU - 17; Ole Miss - 16. NOTE: I define "moment" as a single play rather than a series of plays or an entire game.
I like this list too, but Flynn to Devery Henderson? Not possible. It was DByrd.:thumb: Signed... Thread editor.
1. '07 BCS Championship game/win 2. '03 BCS Championship game/win 3. '07 4th Quarter vs Florida 4. '03 SEC Championship game- that win propelled us into BCS Title game 5. '01 SEC Championship game There are lots of honorable mentions: Blue Grass Miracle, '06 Sugar Bowl blowout of Notre Dame (gave us momentum for '07), Zenon's INT for a TD in the '07 SEC Championship game, and of course- the punt return for a TD by Billy Cannon in 1958. :crystal::geaux::crystal::geaux::crystal:
My top 10 Greatest moments I go for the Morris home run for #1 because it won us a National Championship. Cannon # 2 because it won a Heisman trophy. 1. Warren Morris walk-off home run wins 1996 NC 2. Billy Cannon Punt return earns 1959 Heisman 3. Bert Jones to Davis pass beats Ole Miss with no time left in 1972 4. Eddie Fuller Earthquake Game reception beats Auburn in 1988 5. Basketball win over #1 Kentucky in 1978 with all five starters fouled out 6. Football win over #1 Florida in 1997 7. Bluegrass Miracle Hail Mary in 2002 8. Lowest seeded basketball team to ever make the final four in 1986 9. Womens Track wins 11th consecutive National Championship, 1997 10. Undefeated LSU beats Clemson in Sugar Bowl to win 1958 National Championship
I would have to edit my list and add in the Billy Cannon Halloween Run to beat Ole Miss and help us win our first national championship. That would be at #3 in my list.
In my "football watching" lifetime: 5) LSU 4/4 fourth downs defeats UF 4) Matt Mauck defeats UT 3) Blue Grass Miracle 2) Earthquake Game 1) LSU defeats #1 UF
I agree with most already documented. 2003 BCS championship (After all of the dark times and the rebuilding of the program we FINALLY won another national championship and I was there to see it). 2007 BCS championship (Because we were the first team to win 2 BCS titles and again, I was there to witness history) Earthquake game (My first game in Tiger Stadium. 'Nuff said) 1997 upset of No.1 Fla. (Electric energy the entire night, no one sat down in my section, stormed the field after the game. Sidenote: I also started a chant of 'Corso sucks' heard live on college gameday after he incorrectly predicted that the only way we'd beat UF was if they didn't show up) 2001 SEC championship (Served notice that we were back, we were a force to be reckoned with, and we haven't looked back since) (On a personal note, the '06 game against Ole Miss ranks right up there for me because is was my son's first game in Tiger Stadium. The tradition continues.)
