Alright guys, including championships :crystal:, what are your top 5 moments in LSU footabll history?
1963 or 64. Both teams highly ranked. Myself and two friends had three tickets for the game at Tiger Stadium. (teen years) Two together and one alone in the endzone. When we got to the stadium, we flipped coins. Odd man had to take the separate ticket. The guy who took his NEW Mustang lost. When he saw TS and lost the toss, I thought he would cry. He didn't want to sit alone. I told him I would sit there and we would swap at halftime. We met at the half and he still looked scared. I laughed and said I would not make him trade. OM was leading 10-3 late in the game. LSU scored with little time left. LSU decided to go for two and the win instead of a tie. (no OT at that time) A LSU player caught a "deflected" pass as he laid out to make the reception. LSU wins..........11-10. One fine game.:thumb:
1958 2003 2007 The NCs. After that, the Arnsparger resurgence, and the falloff thereafter. You said Top 5 moments, not top 5 GOOD moments.
One of the greatest are moments i have seen personally, it just means so much more. 1) being there to see LSU's epic win over Florida completing 4/4 on fourth downs 2) skipping night class and driving 5 hours to see LSU wipe the floor with MSU 45-0 in a game where it stormed the entire time, driving back right after the game and getting back at 6am, waking up and going to class at 9am 3) 03 national championship 4) LSUs come back win in game 1 of '09 CWS 5) screaming myself hoarse watching the blue grass miracle live
Championships are too easy to list as 1 and 2. so top 5 (non titles) of my lifetime in no particular order Hodson to Fuller '88 Twillie int in '95 (vs Auburn) Hester plowing into endzone vs Florida Mauck to Skyler/Webster's pick to seal it Curley Hallman gets sh!tcanned
I don't know about top 5 in History but 5 of my favs are: 1. Rohan and Josh Reed show against Bama 2. Rohan to Royal in OT to beat UT 3. 97 UF game 4. Arizona State comeback 5. Mauck to Skyler vs UGA One of my favorite plays in modern history is when Michael Clayton knocked the Auburn returner out cold on the kickoff team. Wish I had that one saved on the puter.
1. LSU beating OU to win their first BCS 2. LSU beating OSU to win their 2nd BCS 3. LSU beating Florida to save the season with 5 for 5 fourth down conversions in the final quarter to do it 4. LSU upsetting #1 ranked Florida in 1997 5. LSU beating Kentucky in the Bluegrass Miracle
1. 03 BCS game (I was there) 2. 07 BCS game (I was there) 3. 58 Sugar Bowl (I was not created yet, my attempt at an early arrival date for the game was thwarted) 4. 97 Victory over #1 FL (I was there) 5. 01 SECCG over #1 TN (I watched it in TN with my old LSU roomate and his 2 TN friends)
