For a long time I hated Bobby Hebert, especially after he did the Dirty Bird on the 50 yard line. I am so glad he ended up on WWL. I got to hear his side of the story on why he signed with the Falcons, and I learned how much he loved the Saints.

Were any of you guys fans of Jeff Blake? I was looking through some old Saints stats and came across him and forgot the dude even existed, then I remembered that he was a pretty decent QB for the Bengals for a while. I think he came here in 2000 before getting hurt and making way for Aaron Brooks. Maybe he wasn't around long enough or effective enough to become a favorite. I can't really remember.

He really only played part of the 2000 season. He took us on a six game winning streak which Brooks pushed to 7 with that awesome win over St. Louis on Monday night. He never took the job back from Brooks after the injury.

    1. Ricky Jackson - He was the face of the Saints and the Dome Patrol. No way Swilling is as good as he was without #57 on the other side.

    2. Drew Brees - no brainer there

    3. Morten Andersen - no way we have those winning seasons with Carl Smith's ultra conservative offense without Morten. I remember a banner at a game after the Saints failed to re-sign him that said 'What were you snortin' when you got rid of Morten'

    4. Dave Waymer - Obviously had off the field issues, but he was a class act.

    5. Hokie - local kid who overachieves and uses every ounce of potential to make it to the home town pro team. Instant fan favorite.

Elijah Nevitt, D'Artagnan Martin, Bivian Lee, for a few more examples.

Now that I think on it, all 3 of those guys were cornerbacks. Significant? I have no idea.

Another favorite was Eddie 'Boo' Williams. That guy had an awesome touchdown dance.
