What's weird is that most of those guys are from the most recently disappointing Saints era. I think when Dikta showed up, it sparked more of an interest, I guess. That, and when I played Madden, I always made sure I signed Fields, Roaf and Kennison everywhere I went. lol
I was watching the best all time linebacker corps on NFL network the other day. They listed the dome patrol at number 1. brought back some fun memories. Those guys had somewhere in the neighborhood of 20 pro bowls combined?
Getting it down to 5 is almost impossible; I'll have to throw in a couple of honorable mentions: 1. Drew Brees 2. Eric Martin 3. Rickey Jackson 4. Danny Abramowicz 5. Dalton Hilliard HM's - Tommy Myers, Vaughn Johnson, Deuce and Howard Stevens. Wait, who? Howard Stevens? Old-timers may remember him, the Darren Sproles of the 1970's. 5-foot-5, fast and shifty. Mostly a kick returner, he was one of the few guys it was truly fun to watch every time he touched the ball for the Saints in those days.
Is that the show where the idiot talk radio guy from Pittsburgh said they didn't belong on the list because they never won a Super Bowl?
I like Mctiger's picks except I pull Eric Martin and put in Archie. Suprised no one has mentioned him yet. He was all class as a player and still is.
1. Archie Manning. If he had played on winning teams there's no doubt he'd be in the HoF. 2. Rickey Jackson. The man ate a Corvette and missed, what, one or two games. 3. Bobby Hebert. Home town boy does good. 4. Deuce. A great back and a classy individual. 5. Willie Roaf. One of the best tackles to ever play the game. HM: Joe Horn, Beerman, Jim Everett ("Call me Chris again!"), Breesus, the rest of the Dome Patrol. Wow, there are so many left off the list, even with the HM.
