I wonder if Penn State will start to see a big drop-off in profet after the Sandusky scandal and fallout.
Hard to say. The loyal PSU fans haven't gone anywhere, but there will be some tough years ahead. They will certainly lose money by not playing in bowl games. We'll see if the stadium stays full.
The sanctions are certainly unprecedented but if the loss of bowl eligibility sanctions are like others they don't lose money, per se'. It's put into escrow. Now, the conference as a whole does lose money with a team not being eligible and through that they lose some money. As frustrating as I was seeing the NCAA commish bypassing any and all due process I didn't bother looking at how the bowl monies were going to be handled.
The Big Ten will obviously get less bowl money this year without Penn State. However, the Big Ten passed down it's own sanctions stating "PSU will not get their share of the conference post season cash"...
