LSU is on the list twice: Rivals.com College Football - Top 12 non-conference games of 2011 There isn't a team in the country who has a schedule like ours this year.
Both these games are custom built for ware. Both teams have lost players on defense and ware should be able to run hard behind lsu's vet o line
I agree. Spencer Ware should be able to exploit Oregon's re-structured D-line. Establish the run and make the defense honest and then spread 'em out a little. Then pound 'em again with Ware and repeat. Sprinkle in some suffocating defense and we should beat Oregon. I'll be at Jerry's World watching. I can't wait. opcorn:
I agree. I was going to say that, but I didn't want to seem like a homer....but it's true. I challenge anyone to find a schedule in the history of the NCAA that is comparable the one that we are about to play.
Well this was Navy's schedule in 1970...most of you guys probably were not alive, but back in the day this was pretty stiff...Penn State, Boston College, Syracuse, Pittsburgh, Washington, Notre Dame and Ga Tech. Of course the record showed it, we only won 2, but we did Beat Army. 1970 schedule vs Colgate 48 - 22 W Sep 12, 1970 Penn State 7 - 55 L Sep 19, 1970 vs Boston College 14 - 28 L Sep 26, 1970 Washington 7 - 56 L Oct 3, 1970 vs Pittsburgh 8 - 10 L Oct 10, 1970 vs Air Force 3 - 26 L Oct 17, 1970 Syracuse 8 - 23 L Oct 24, 1970 at Notre Dame 7 - 56 L Oct 31, 1970 Georgia Tech 8 - 30 L Nov 7, 1970 vs Villanova 10 - 14 L Nov 14, 1970 vs Army 11 - 7 W Nov 28, 1970
Miami had some really tough ones back in the 80s. Especially the late 80s into the 90s. 1987 started with UF, Arkansas, FSU in that order. I doubt we ever see a team start a season with teams like that ever again.
Who was the last team to face the 3 previous national champions, and the year prior's runner up all in the same season? Hell has there ever been a team that had to do that?
Notre Dame has had traditionally always had a pretty tough schedule but each matchup isn't as intense as our SEC rivalries. The SEC always has the toughest schedules yet we still have the top teams to survive and it shows in the big bowl games.
