A Damage control after the leak? Control the message so we don't look llike Auburn? Have you seen any of that? If we expect our coach to be the best , why are we OK with subpar execution from his boss?
Like I've said since he was hired, I really don't like Alleva, so don't take this as defending him, but what was he supposed to say after it was leaked? He couldn't give Miles a vote of confidence or say the rumors weren't true without being called a liar. Miles didn't deserve to get fired with a game remaining, not many would have been happy with that. Once the leak happened it was a no win situation. The best he could do is explain what happened after Miles is let go. Should the information have been leaked? Of course not. Did Miles deserve to be left dangling in the wind? Hell no, but what was he going to say or do after the leak that would have made the situation better?
I dont think you quite get it. i didnt say i liked the guy. Or that the new guy is an automatic success. regardless anyones thoughts, the fact that hes got jimbo & co in tow and the work he put in behind the scenes when hes the biggest escape goat west of the mississippi, takes major fortitude because his ass is on the line. When its a lose lose situation in the eye of the public. Leaving les flapping in the wind is tough to take but hes a casualty of doing business. We had to make a move before USCw or Texas or whomever got the jump on us. We cant say we are making a move until our guy is in hand and the rough draft ink is dry. But you cant sign a guy until you fire one either. Therefore we cant hold a pc saying anything specific. Les gets the $15 million dollar consolation prize for his unceremonious departure. You know the 15 mill he held our feet over the fire when he pretended he was going to R-kansas. Same guy. Smart business on his part. We are looking out for us first here. Just like he did. Only way it can happen successfully.
As far as LSU is concerned Miles is coming back. You think differently because of some rumors on ESPN or because a BOS is pissing in Miles' Cheerios? You expect getting rid of a coach like Miles to go flawless but have defended Miles up until recently despite the utter shite that was apparent to anyone paying attention? Give me a break.
