The truth is we couldn't stop the Bama running game. Yes there were a couple of bad calls by the refs. There are in just about every game. We got beat by a better team. QB was not a factor on either side. Jarrett Lee still looks lost. I don't care what CLM says in his coach speak about the progress Lee has made. The truth is McElroy nor Lee nor Jefferson played a significant part in the outcome of this game. Defensively, you point to the couple of plays that Petersen was out and it was costly. Add to that the CLM decision to go for two towards the end of the 3rd quarter was a poor coaching decision. Bama won, end of story. Nick Saban made the half time adjustments, we didn't. I still expect this team will probably finish with one more loss and end up in the Cotton Bowl against Ok State. 9-3 - Not bad without decent QB play. I expect us to be a formidable team next year.
Maybe you should watch the game again. Way too many NON holding calls that allowed those great Bama runs. No way did they dominate us otherwise.
Said it before in the last thread when people were 'whining about the whining' and I'll say it again. When you have 2 teams with an equal amount of talent, the game will hinge one or two plays here or there. The play that had the most impact on the game and sealed the win for Bama was the no-call interception. Would we have scored had we been given possession? Obviously, no one knows. But I like our chances in that situation, given our track record for finding ways to win games in the waning minutes.
If JJ does not come back, we may only win one more game. However, I think the Scott injury may allow some new sunshine for the running game. I don't think this oline is rigged for his style. IMHO.:geaux:
I think if you sat through that shyt storm today, you get the privelage of btching about it for a few hours. Sunday morning around 10:00 a.m. is where the line is drawn.
The refs sucked and the game was given to the Tide. The SEC can fine me $30K and kiss my @$$ while they are at it. :milesmic:
i don't remember bama scoring on a running play. i also don't understand how cbs gave their RB the player of the game award. sure, he had lots of yards, but no scores!
Maybe we are whining a lot but we should be. Officials are too many times having a huge influence on an outcome of a game by the calls they make or don't make. And when they have instant replay to help them make the correct call they can't even do that. I'm sick of it. I was a huge boxing fan for many years and I don't watch it anymore because of blatant corrupt officiating. College football and specifically the SEC are starting to remind me of boxing.
