I have read a few times where Chad Superman Jones is weighing 232 and PTwice (Patrick Peterson) is between 210-215lbs. At their position does this hinder their playmaking ability. You could almost move Peterson to Free Safety at that size and Jones to OLB as well. Or does the rigor SEC warrant that kind of weight at those positions? I'll hang up and listen.
The ESPN article about Peterson has him listed at 175, I don't believe that he's anywhere near 200 lbs, if he is actually 225, that's way too big for a corner. I've also read at least one article that said that Jones is going to be losing some weight before the season to get down to around 220-225, although this is unconfirmed.
I can't picture a 232 pound DB with enough speed to cover man-to-man in the SEC. Julio Jones would leave them puffing in the dust. I've always been suspicious of the heights and weights put out by the Athletic Department.
That seems heavy for Petersen. I don't mind Chad jones in the 225 range. I think he can carry that weight if he's playing FS. Rarely will he have to cover.
We have to remember they are not carrying this weight around there bellies. 215 lbs x 4.5 40 time = ouch!
