Well, she (Nancy Grace) did not actually say he was a murderer but went completely out of their way to paint Tony as a black rose. Said he "mowed down" the kid, endless comments about road rage and showed an entire timeline of every time Tony had an on track incident with other drivers. To be honest, I have seen Kevin Harvick do worse... She did interview Geoff Bodine and he defended Tony's hitting the accelerator to the point that Tony's efforts were to avoid hitting the kid. He saw nothing aggressive about Tony's actions. Geoff Bodine is a pretty huge stand up guy and would never jeopardize his reputation by defending or accusing anyone regarding an event of this nature.
Really? You don't know ME? Telling you about myself should be a..... You must be "on drugs" not to know about my career.... I did get some attention during the Duke Lacrosse trial but some people just don't like me.... Pardon me but I've just been shown a picture of OJ..... I took up dancing on a break from my career as a legal "expert" on TV. Like my fishnets? Care to be on my show?
There's your problem. Regardless of the situation or circumstance, there will always be a large contingent of people who can't wait to show your just how far up their asses their heads are. I'm not sure why this bothers you so much. But to be fair, when I first heard about it, being familiar with Stewart's history (I like Tony, fwiw), I thought that maybe his anger got the better of him yet again, only with much more tragic results. Since the initial report, I've learned a lot about the differences between sprint cars and stock cars, and now understand that this is a much different scenario than Michael Waltrip storming down a concrete track in the middle of the day. To someone not familiar with racing, it's not that hard to misjudge the situation.
People ask "What the hell was Tony Stewart thinking? Racing at small dirt tracks and risking a multi million dollar career" Not long ago Kevin Durant went back to his old hood and played basketball with one of the teams that played for fun in the area. Nobody chastised Durant. He was praised for "giving back to where he came from." He was getting back to his roots." Well, Tony Stewart's roots are in the dirt track sprint and midget cars. Saturday nights at small town Indiana or Ohio midwestern auto racing. That's where Smoke came from. He doesn't have to do it. He gets nothing out of it other than the enjoyment of racing. But his appearance at those tracks help the sport of racing. Stewart is more than likely friends with a lot of those small track owners. He can guarantee them a crowd just by being there. That helps to grow the sport. A lot of the spectators can't afford to travel and attend a real NASCAR race. They would never get to see anybody like that. It helps young drivers like Kevin Hunt Jr. Its a tragedy and I'm sure that Tony Stewart is as sick about it as anybody. He won't be participating in this weeks race at Michigan. Its already been announced that Jeff Burton will be driving the Stewart-Haas Racing #14 Mobil One Chevrolet. Its possible that Stewart may not race again this year. That would be a shame. Love him or hate him he is good for racing. I don't know how many other big time drivers race at other venues than NASCAR. Probably more than you would expect. A few years ago Dale Earnhardt Jr. got his hands seriously burned racing in a Corvette race and had to miss several NASCAR races. He told a reporter once that he was a pretty good baseball player but he never got to play much as a kid because he always had his head under the hood of a car. That's Racing.
