The interviews are up now and it was on for an hour so they talked about tons of things but... - Said he wasnt really welcomed - Only saw Tubs in his office three? times - Knew he made a mistake a week into the job - Basically Tubs had his group of friends and if you werent one of them you didnt have much input - Wasnt allowed to bring any of his assistants - Reminded Tubs he was taking over the 103 ranked offense, not the 5 ranked defense - Tubs made comments over the headsets during games and wouldnt really leave him alone. - Al Borges warned him about a lot of stuff and if Borges couldnt do well there (spoke highly of him) then what does that say about the staff? - His gash that many thought came from a fight was from surgery years ago when he had cancer - Tubs isnt really involved with anything until gameday - Tubs didnt even interview him for the job, some other guy did - They never really talked at all He took a few shots but was really respectful and didnt leak too much information, but it was revealing at the same time. His lawyer was with him so he wa sort of restricted. It was funny when he said he knew he would be fired some day because every assistant there is fired, except for Petrino, who left.
This may confirm the rumors that someone else decided to hire Franklin and Tubs had no say so in it. That's probably why Tubs didn't interview him and probably why Franklin got the cold shoulder.
Well, that's sorta' the problem. When you're getting your info from only one side of the story, and the source is a biased media outlet, you really should take it with a truckload of salt. Only the naive would believe that Tuberville never interviewed Franklin and I know for fact that he did. The things that some folks will believe  IMHO, Tuberville did a poor job of evaluating the challenges AU would face in implementing the full version of the spread, and I believe he failed to properly manage the expectations of a fanbase - a fanbase that was culturally rooted in a tradition of power rushing, not finesse passing. The biggest challenges Auburn has faced this season are: 1) poor special teams play - the primary reason for the loss to LSU and Vandy 2) O-Line - the two-point stance doesn't play well in the SEC, never will 3) horizontal running - difficult transition when your RB's are vertical attack specialists 4) injuries - key injuries to our most experienced leaders on O and D. 5) inexperience at the QB position - not unlike the challenges faced by LSU this season
So with all that said... does that justify Tubs getting fired at the end of th season? :geauxtige:geauxtige :geauxtige:geauxtige
Well, not in my opinion. I believe CTT has earned the right to fix the mistake, but that's just my opinion ........ that and $2.75 might get you a cup of coffee
is what I heard true about the assistants not ever being on board with the spread like ensminger, et al, so franklin was never given a fair shake within the group? if the entire coaching staff wasnt down with the new offense then obviously the players would never buy into it. the staff allegedly believed in the run it down your throat type which is what made AU successful the past decade or so.
