First I've heard... It's GameDay: Tigers Host Dawgs; Wear Gold - LSUsports.net - The Official Web Site of LSU Tigers Athletics
They get the word out about 2 days in advance and then wonder why everyone is wearing purple and white.
Nobody ever really listens to these color days unless you're PSU or UofTex (when you're choices are between burnt orange and white, they try to be as "weird" as possible with what they got). We, on the other hand, have a decision between Purple, Gold and white with a combination of the two (jerseys). Tiger fans live dangerously.
They mentioned it during the Vandy broadcast, and I'm pretty sure it's usually the Miss St. game when it's at home. I think enough people know, I just don't think they don't care. People wear purple and white because they're stubborn and don't really get or want to get this "tradition." I didn't really care about it either, but since I usually rock my lucky gold t-shirt to every game I lucked into compliance.
