If anyone had told me LSU wouldnt score a touchdown and Lee would throw 2 ints, but LSU would still win in Alabama I wouldn't have believed it. Not a good game by the Tiger offense. And too many blown assignments by the LSU secondary--they dodged some bullets and Reid bailed them out on the biggest one (wasnt even his man). But I guess if the Tigers can have an off night but still can win on the road versus a team like Alabama, that shows how good they are. Now the Tigers have a clear shot at the NC, but have to take care of business. Arkansas will be dangerous, as will the SEC championship game. Being the overwhelming favorite is treacherous. The Tigers have a LOT more to lose than any of their remaining opponents. Couple thoughts going forward: 1. I hope Lee doesn't lose his confidence. He had a very bad night and from the first pass did not look sharp. I expected better from him as a senior QB and am very surprised this was his worst game in over a year. Tigers need him down the strech, so I hope he can shake this off. 2. Honeybadger has had a tough couple of weeks and needs to get his sh*t together. The cheapshot was an embarrassment to the program and the second time he's let the team down (in a big way) in the last two games. I was hoping Les would bench him for the rest of the game. He needs to redeem himself in the remainder of the season. Any more screwups won't bode well for his prospects next year. 3. A stomping of Arkansas would be sweet and send a message. 4. NC is now theirs to lose. One letdown and everything they've accomplished this season will evaporate.
W. Kentucky will be the tonic JL needs to get back on track. They need to give him plenty of opportunity to shake this one off.
I really hope so, I felt so bad for him last night. He looked like he was thinking he'd lost it all, being the starter I mean but, I believe he comes back strong.
Good point. Kind of hard to know who was supposed to pick up a back/receiver/tight end when no defender is within 20 yards, but likely some of those were linebacker screw ups.
Definitely agree with this. We need Lee, although JJ was able to do what we needed against Bama, we need Lee's accuracy and calmness. I think he shakes it off and lights up W. Kentucky and it continues on from there.
Yeah, I felt badly for him too. He'd been having such a great year and remaking his image, but then on biggest stage yet he regresses. I'm keeping fingers crossed he can finish strong and this game was just a blip. Even a great pro QB can have a crappy day.
