    The shine is completely gone.

Talk about someone losing millions as we speak.

He's the coach of Houston. They blew their wad in the early part of the season. He'd be much better at a bigger school with real recruits.

I agree. He doesn't even have a full roster with 'his' players yet. I'd still be ok with him getting the job here.

I think it's possible that the Houston team is completely distracted by all of the rumors and speculation about their coach leaving them. I'm unsure if it's truly a reflection of Herman's coaching abilities, but it appears the guys might not be playing as hard for Herman right now. (Our players weren't playing hard for Miles; it does happen.)

If he loses 4 or 5 games, he won't be employed at USC, LSU or Texas next season.

He better run the table which would include a huge win over Louisville.

He will only lose one more regular season game with that schedule. I doubt they are distracted by Herman. It's more like they lost to navy and their season was effectively over.

That's why ole miss did nothing in the 2h. They had nothing to fight for.

Agreed. I get that focus and motivation fall on the HC but in their hearts they know Houston is a stepping stone. If not this year but soon. At the end of the day I want Coach Oeaux, but if it's not him I'd still prefer Herman over anyone else, especially Fisher.

I wonder if he would go ahead and accept an offer from us at this point?

At my daughter's high school game the other night, I was talking to a drill team girl's grandpa who had been one of the Junction Boys at A & M under the Bear. A & M tanked in Bryant's last season because he announced prior to the last two games that he was going to Alabama the next year.

I was wondering where you were. Figured the hubby claimed the house, said enough is enough, and unplugged the computer during the game.

It was a two-part issue. I was semi-chaperoning a Halloween party a few blocks away at my daughter's drill team captain's house. Around 8:15, I excused myself and walked home to watch the game. But alas, my parents were in town, so I was conversing with them during the game.
